Read More about our Public First Aid Course...

Having staff trained in First Aid will help to reduce the effects and seriousness of any accidents or injuries that occur in the workplace, and will also provide all staff with peace of mind. First aid provision is a legal requirement for employers.

This course runs over three full days at our premises in Dublin and Cork, and at other locations around the country. We also can teach an in-house if it is more suitable for employees and employers. Our course is externally accredited by FETAC as a Level 5 certificate and is meant for those who intend to act as appointed first aiders in their workplace.

Why bother?

Every year there are over 13,000 deaths in Ireland due to circulatory problems most of which are from coronary heart disease. Approximately 50% progress to cardiac arrest within 2 hours. For many victims it is what happens in the first few minutes following a heart attack that will decide their fate. Every two minutes someone, somewhere, has a heart attack.

Why train with the St. John Ambulance Brigade of Ireland?

You will be taught by an experienced trainer. Trainers are also experienced First Aiders and they will show you how the skills you learn can be applied in the real world outside the classroom.

Our courses teach the most up-to-date protocols, as approved by national and European bodies.

If you take a St. John course, you will know that you are ready to deal with a situation to the best of your ability. You will be in the company of thousands of people trained by St. John, and have the backing of an organisation at the heart of Emergency First Response.
